Day 1 - Before Light's Out

[It's aboout an hour after the trial when Ema goes in search of Greg, so she can show him how to do forensic tests and proper court procedure. She's hoping it won't take too long to find him. How many places could a little boy and his pet frog be, anyway?]

[A lot of places. But you can find Greg soon enough, coming away from the confession cam area with Tapioca in tow.]

Hi, Ema!

[skyentist]

Hi Greg! Remember how I said I'd show you how to do detecting stuff? I'm ready now.

[She holds up her luminol and her fingerprinting powder.]

[candyrocks]

Neat! Tapioca needs to learn too, because he's going to be the detective.

[skyentist]

Great! Which do you two want to learn how to do first? Do you want to do fingerprinting or finding where blood's been after you wipe it up?

[candyrocks]

Fingerprinting, please!

[skyentist]

Right! Okay, first we need to find a smooth surface where it looks like people have gotten their hands all over it. Can you think of someplace like that?

[She's just going to put Greg in the driver's seat for as much of this as she can.]

[candyrocks]

Yeah! The place we all did votes, everybody got their hands everywhere!

[skyentist]

Ooooh, good idea! Let's go.

[So she'll go with Greg to the trial circle and let him pick which surface there to dust.]

[candyrocks]

[Picking out a surface near where he sat.]

Let's do this one!

[skyentist]

Great! [Once they're right there she'll take the finger printing kit out of her pocket, hand the wand to Greg, and unscrew the powder jar which she holds for him.]

Okay, you're going to want to take this little wand and dip the poofy end in this jar and then use it to dust over the place where you want to get the fingerprints. Get it really thoroughly covered with powder, okay?

[candyrocks]

Okay, sure!

[Takes the wand and...no he's essentially just dumping powder.]

[skyentist]

[This is why she's holding the powder jar, so he doesn't just upend the whole thing or something like that.]

Okay, once it's good and covered, then you want to start blowing the powder off! Blow really strong, Greg!

[candyrocks]

Okay! Blow, Tapioca!

[Blowing really hard!]

Pfffffffffft thhhhhbbbbbbb pff!

[skyentist]

[And the powder blows away to reveal... prints!]

Now if we had a bunch of everyone's prints we could match these to find whoever touched it. We don't yet, but if we did...
